A Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) is an accreditation issued by the National
Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA). The CVA is a statement to the business, professional and legal community that an individual has attained a
level of knowledge in business valuations that NACVA considers exemplary and worthy of recognition by awarding the designation of CVA. To become certified by
NACVA, the candidate is required to successfully complete a rigorous training and/or testing process. A pre-emptive requirement to becoming a CVA is that the
applicant must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) registered in their state. Implicit in this requirement is that the CVA maintains at least 40 hours of
Continuing Professional Education each year. NACVA also requires that CVAs obtain at least 12 hours per year of education in areas related to business valuations
and/or litigation support.
The National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA), is a global,
professional association that supports the business valuation and litigation consulting disciplines within the CPA, financial advisory, and investment banking
communities. Along with its training and certification programs, NACVA offers a range of support services, marketing tools, software programs, reference
materials, and customized databases to enhance the professional capabilities and capacities of its members. NACVA can be contacted at
